School Lunches

Infants & Nursery School

Once the children have started school they may have a school meal, bring a packed lunch or go home for dinner. HCL provides our school meals which are cooked onsite in our dedicated kitchen. The children are offered a choice of meals, which have to be pre-ordered using an electronic pre ordering system, called Cypad. Parents can pre-order meals at home via www.parentpay.com.

Allergy and Dietary Requirements

If your child has an allergy please inform the school as soon as possible. Common allergens can be entered onto the system and Cypad will help block any unsafe options by eliminating them from your child’s pre ordering; it will also inform the cook on the lunchtime screen.

Payments

School meals are free for all children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 under the Government Universal Free School Meal (UIFSM) scheme. We still ask parents to pre-order the free school meal on Parentpay in advance.

Packed Lunches

The alternative to a school meal is a packed lunch.  Lunches should be brought in a named lunch box with any cutlery your child needs.  Water is available.  Please do not send in any glass ‘Thermos’ flasks, glass bottles or cans of any kind.

We operate a no nut policy. Many schools and workplaces have staff members and pupils with life threatening allergies. This includes chocolate spreads like nutella and cereal bars containing nuts.

Snacks

We encourage children to bring a healthy snack (fresh or dried fruit or vegetables) for break time.
