Our Public Sector Equality Duty Objectives

Chaulden Junior School is committed to ensuring equality of provision throughout the school community. To achieve this, our equality objectives are as follows:

  • To promote spiritual, moral, social and cultural development and understanding, by offering a rich range of experiences in the curriculum and through wider extended opportunities.

  • To reduce prejudice and increase understanding of equality, through the promotion of British values, with the focus on building tolerance and respect.

  • To model teaching and learning behaviours that avoid labelling children in terms of their ability.

  • To anticipate the needs of new pupils to the school and support them with the transition.

  • To continue our support for children with SEN, and their families, through good communication/ information sharing with parents, staff training and providing an SEN supportive curriculum.

  • To support and broaden opportunities for vulnerable families by supporting access to opportunities to after-school clubs and activities
