Assessment

Children’s work is assessed in a variety of ways; in lessons by their teachers, in weekly tests and more formally at the beginning, the middle and the end of each year. Alongside these summative assessments, teachers are also checking and adjusting teaching based on children's responses, marking and feedback. We call this formative assessment or Assessment for Learning (AfL).

At the end of Year 6, children are formally assessed by their teacher (Teacher Assessment) and through national tests (SATs). Please note that national tests did not take place in Summer 2020 or Summer 2021. Teacher assessments were completed.
